Adam and Eve sinned against God and were forced out of the Eden Garden. They bore two children: Abel and Cain. The first son was Cain who was a farmer and the second one was Abel who was a shepherd. When it was time to offer sacrifices, God favored Abel's sacrifice and rejected Cain's. Cain became furious against his brother Abel and killed him. He repeated his parents' sin by killing his own blood, his own brother. When after the murder he was asked where Abel was, he said: "Am I my brother's keeper?”

The deluge of Noah did not come without any warning. Years of time were spent to build the ark when Noah with his family and "every male and female of every sort" were brought into the ark, in order to be saved from the floods of the destruction of the earth.
